Heritage and Digital Initiatives Officer

Hi! I’m Lara and I work on two community heritage projects here at VCS – Chronicle & Stories/Straeon. I do a little bit of everything, from working with volunteers, to editing videos, running workshops and events, and making sure our digital collections are up and running. I’m also an Arts Award adviser and always looking for new ways to help promote the arts in our communities.

I’m originally from the United States, but I’ve bounced around a bit before making my ‘for now’ home in Cardiff. When I’m not working, you can find me riding my bike around town and engaging in stereotypical bookworm hobbies like knitting or getting asked to leave Waterstones because the shop is closing. I have degrees in history, information management, and library science, so it should be no surprise to learn that I enjoy spending my time in libraries and archives. 😊
