John Lenney (Junior) was the original founder of Radio Cardiff in 2007, having previously pioneered a number of short-term community radio licences since the mid 90s – Tiger Bay Radio, Dock of the Bay Radio, Bay FM and Beats FM.
He is a youth trainer, business entrepreneur, musician & presenter – and for several years hosted his own Saturday night show on BBC Radio Wales.
In 2006, John was awarded the M.B.E. for his services to Music and to Young People in Cardiff. In October 2017 he succeeded the late Danny Abse as an Honorary Vice President of VCS.
